So, I'm finally back after a long haitus.  With a quick update on my current situation...well, part of it anyway.

My blessings be with all of you and your loved ones during your winter celebrations.

Mine are as merry as can be given the current situation.

The good part, most of my mother's family is all together in Albuquerque, New Meixco. My mother's sisters and their husbands are all here -- Aunt Ray and Uncle Same from California, Aunt June and Unlce Jamie from NM and Aunt Terri and Uncle Guy from NM -- also my cousin Emily, her husband, and their two boys, and my other cousin Hannah and her husband Adam. Like wise my Grandmother is here.

Unfortunately my Grandfather is here only in spirit, as he is the reason we have all traveled to be together this day.

On December 22nd, at approximately 11:45 pm (MST) my Grandfather passed away. He had been in the hospital for a couple of days, and only three hours earlier went into cardia arrest, his health situation looking bad. He came through for a short time, but when he went, he went. There was no attempt at resesitation, as per his orders. My mother caught a flight at 6:30 am (EST) and arrived in Albuquerque, NM at about 10:30 am (EST). My Aunt Ray's flight was delayed by almost two hours, but she and her husband arrived safely.

My brothers, father and I left at 9 pm (EST) on December 23rd, and arrived in New Mexico at 5 pm (EST) [3 pm MST]. My father and I split the driving, 20 hours straight through. My mother will be joining us on the drive back, so we'll have three people to switch between instead of two.

Last night we ate at my Grandmother's, my cousin Hannah and her husband Adam made dinner. Tonight we are eating at my Aunt June's, which is where my family is staying while we are here.

Tomorrow, the 26th, we are going to my Grandfather's wake, and funeral. A quick and small ordeal, as per my mother's family traditions. (My father's family has three day long wakes and the funeral procession is almost a mile long.)

Before I left I told only my closest friends. This is the first time I have mentioned it online, and believe neither of my parents have yet to do so. Our online and Faire families either are just finding out, or will soon enough. I have posted the same as here on MySpace , facebook , deviantArt , and livejournal . We're staying for a week, leaving back for home on the 30th, and we're having a New Year's party the 31st. Though I hopefully will be elsewhere that day.
